PUNDITS AND POLLSTER SPEAK AT APW LUNCHEON OCT. 11

Fellow Albuquerque Press Women and friends of Press Women. We are about to enter one of the most important national elections of our time and as communicators, we want to stay informed and bring you into the political discussion with an engaging program before we all head out to the polls in November. And you are all planning to vote, right? Political stakes are higher than ever this election season. With the big day less than a month away some races are in a dead heat, including the bid for the White House. New Mexico's best pundits and pollsters will speak at the Albuquerque Press Women luncheon Monday, Oct. 11, from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sheraton Uptown.

Learn more about "The 2004 Political Scene" from Albuquerque Journal political reporter Andy Lenderman, The Albuquerque Tribune political reporter Shea Anderson and University of New Mexico Political Science lecturer Gilbert St. Clair, an expert on national and New Mexico politics and public policy. He is frequently quoted in local and national media,
including The Washington Post and The New York Times.
Remember, luncheons are open to the public for the non-member price of $21. But if you're a member, your guest gets the member price for the first visit. Perhaps your guest will want to join APW at the door and pay the low member price of $15. For reservations, contact Janet Ford by Oct. 8 at 275-9724.

Next month, we've invited Pollster Brian Sanderoff of Research and Polling and Eli Lee, a political consultant working on several campaigns - including Richard Romero's, John Hooker's, and several more - to speak about how difficult this election has been to predict and to chase.
It's a great time to join Press Women. We are working hard to bring you exciting programs so mark your calendar, clear your schedules and plan to join us. We meet monthly on the second Monday. If you have an idea for a luncheon program, contact Program Chair Dan Mayfield.

MEMBERSHIP DUES
One of the best reasons to join APW now is that new members who join from now through the end of the year get the remaining months of 2004 as a bonus with payment of their 2005 dues. For those of you renewing your membership, I'll remind you that APW has decided to make the membership year due in January from here forward. What this means is that your membership fee will be due in January so you don't have to remember what part of the year you joined in order to keep your membership current. We hope this will make things easier on you as
well as us.

The price breakdown is as follows, if you are a member of National Federation of Press Women, New Mexico Press Women and Albuquerque Press Women, your APW member price is only $10. If you would only like to join at the local level, your APW is $35. We're also offering a discounted student price of $6, if the student is a member of all three organizations, or $20 for APW alone.
