JANUARY, 2005 NEWSLETTER December 29, 2004 -- Hello members and friends of Albuquerque Press Women. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and/or Chanukah or other winter holidays you might observe. As we prepare to say goodbye to another year and welcome in 2005, it's a good time to reflect on our personal and professional achievements. For me, starting a new job mid-year was both a little frightening, yet exciting at the same time. Sometimes change can be difficult, but oftentimes we find that change can be a very positive thing. Some of us hoped for big political changes this fall and while on a national level, things look much the same, in New Mexico, we're getting ready for another law making session in Santa Fe. Albuquerque Press Women would like to welcome in the new year with a preview of what might be discussed, voted upon and enacted during the 2005 New Mexico Legislative Session. Larry Waldman, senior economist at the Bureau of Business and Economic Research at the University of New Mexico, will discuss the state of the economy in relation to the legislative session at the Albuquerque Press Women meeting on Monday, Jan. 10, from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sheraton Uptown, Menaul and Louisiana NE. Luncheons are open to the public for the nonmember price of $21. Or join APW at the door and pay the low member price of $15. We hope that you have our regular luncheon time marked on your calendars and will join us for this luncheon. For reservations, please contact Janet Ford by Jan. 7, at 720-7821 or E-Mail. The member cost is $15, nonmembers $21. Members' guests receive the $15 rate the first time they attend. You may select a vegetarian meal. Remember, your reservation is our commitment to reserve your lunch—and your commitment to pay. MEMBERSHIP DUES Carol Kreis The price breakdown is as follows, if you are a member of National Federation of Press Women, New Mexico Press Women and Albuquerque Press Women, your APW member price is only $10.
